It's storming here in Texas, and the power was out for a while, so the only thing I could do was play with Paint on my computer and this is what I came out with. :) Not bad for paint!

Other than that, I have been working on a lot of new paintings lately. I don't have a camera right now to post them, but will have them up early next week. I've been working on a bunch of Day of the Dead Paintings to get ready for the Halloween season. Also, I've have 3 Skeleton Family Portraits to do in the past week 1/2 and I've working on finishing my last one today and it looks awesome! Can't wait to show it off :)

Back to painting...!

Wda Team Featured Artist: Robyn Of "ForeverFall" On Etsy

Shop Opened: April 22, 2009

Artist Bio

One day when I was in preschool, my class watched the Wizard of Oz. Toward the end of the movie, my father came to collect me from school. As we were walking out to the car, he asked me who my favorite character was from the Wizard of Oz. Of course, I said "Dorothy". He then replied "Really? I always liked the Wicked Witch the best." From that day forward, the Wicked Witch was my favorite character too.

I am inspired by so many things! Halloween, ghost stories, books. But I think above all, I am inspired by other artists. I enjoy collecting strange and spooky items made by others which I display all around me in my art room. When I look at these things, I think "Wow. Someone plucked this beautiful idea out of their mind and made it tangible." This thought inspires me deeply.

I think my biggest success as an artist is every time I have a sale. It's not because of the money, but rather the thought that someone out there fell in love with something that I made enough to want it in their home. That is such a remarkable feeling.

I'd have to say that every creation I put in my shop is a favorite. I say this because each character or creation that I add to my shop has it's own uniqueness and is made with a piece of my heart and mind. They all came from ideas that were too irresistable not to make them a reality.

8/1/11 Featured Wda Team Artist: CREEPYSTUFF aka ~Nan~

Artist: Nan

Shop Opened on Etsy: May 28, 2010

Artist Bio:

Hi there, I'm NAN. I've been making stuff since I can remember. I've always been drawn to the darker side; from classic horror movies to artists like James Ensor to Joe Coleman. Halloween has always reigned supreme over Christmas! I love old punk music , I lived in a haunted house, I'm a mom, a rebel living in the suburbs. I have too many cats & 2 dogs (one with no eyes!)
I started out studying art in college, then art history, anthropology, sociology...so I use a lot of this information/inspiration. I've lived in several states-from New Mexico to Florida & for the past few years find myself (uncomfortably) in the conservative Midwest.

I quit my job about a year & a half ago & am trying to scrape by selling my CREEPYSTUFF...so if you have a few spare dollars, maybe you'll find something you just can't live without! I LOVE making things; I obsess over them! I can get so involved in a project that I forget to eat! I HAVE to have something to work on every day! Everything I make has a high degree of humor embedded in it...even my bloody zombies have a twisted cuteness to them!

My biggest "artistic success"...hmmm, it is a toss up between having my stuff in galleries in Florida & it selling well or earning enough $$ selling art to pay my bills (mostly!) on time! Thanks for checking out CREEPYSTUFF! NAN
